Getting out on the ice and snow provides people of All Abilities in Adelaide with the opportunity to experience something new and unique, improve health and independence, and create new social interactions with their peers.
Our All Abilities Sessions include both Ice Skating and Snow Play. Have a go at skating or play with real snow!
At The Ice ArenA we believe Ice Sports are for Everyone
SKATE AIDS & SNOW TOYS
Skating aids and snow toys are available for FREE to use during sessions. We have regular skate frames and push-along penguins. Our range of toys includes buckets, snowball makers, and taboggans.
SENSORY PLAY
Perfect for development; skating and snow provide opportunities to experience the ice cold, feel the hardness of ice, the softness of snow, how the light interacts, and engage in mobility and balance practice.
WHEELCHAIRS
Wheelchairs are allowed onto the ice with an accompanying carer or supervisor. Please note there is a small plinth or step at the edge of the ice that wheelchairs will need to be lifted over.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
WHAT TO EXPECT
We split the ice in two with ice skating on one side, we have plenty of skate aids to help, and a pile of snow on the other with lots of toys to play with, the snowball makers are a favourite.
Depending on sensory limitations we also have music and party lights as well as bubble and smoke machines. We customise the session to the group to ensure the best experience is had by all.
